Good Morning and Happy Thursday!
I started the morning out with a warm glass of lemon water like I do most days and then made a wonderful bowl of Pear, Almond and Flax Muesli that I let sit while I did my short and sweet yoga practice. Yum! This is a nice change of pace from my beloved bowl of warm oats and I really enjoyed the texture of the oats. A perfect start to this busy Thursday.
Pear, Almond and Flax Muesli 1/2 cup of rolled oats
1/2 cup of Silk Soy Mik with added Fiber
1/2 a pear, diced
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1 tablespoon wheat germ
Drizzle of Agave Nectar
Mix everything together and let sit for 10 + minutes or overnight. Enjoy!
I have really been enjoying my new book the
Gorgeously Green Diet and have a bunch of recipes that I am looking forward to making this weekend. I do have a couple of things that I am intrigued by in her book. She recommends adding Aloe Vera Juice to your lemon water to aid in digestion and I just wonder if anyone has tried Aloe Vera Juice. This is something I think I could incorporate into my diet? The other question that I want to do some more research on is the use of coconut oil and butter. I know a lot of vegan recipes use it and understand why but for us flexitarians, I wonder if it has any added health benefits? I know that it is a saturated fat and know it is great for your skin and hair but am a little suspect about ingesting it. I am going to do more research and get back to you. If anyone wants to chime in feel free!
On the agenda today is teaching class this morning at
Hill Country Fitness, running various errands, taking Emmet to OT, evening clients and then gearing up for the Grey's Anatomy Finale!
And the day's are counting down for the Holey Donut Giveaway so be sure to enter. All you have to do is:

It is that simple and believe me you will want to try these Holey Donuts out. They are really super delicious and make a great portion controlled treat. They are light, fluffy donuts with as little as 3-4 grams of fat and 150-250 calories.
