osteoporosis and breast cancer

Posted by conway

I heard there are drugs for osteoporosis that are good for you if you have a history of breast cancer in your family.  Is this true?

Hello, you may be referring to the drug Raloxifene - Usually prescribed to treat osteoporosis, Raloxifene has proven effective in preventing certain types of breast cancers, especially estrogen-positive breast cancer (ref: RUTH Trials)  You may want to discuss this to your primary care provider.
