Odwalla Carrot Juice

Posted Aug 06 2009 10:03pm

Odwalla Carrot Juice I had never had carrot juice before, and wasn't quite sure what to expect of Odwalla Carrot Juice. However, I love carrots, and some experiments in the kitchen have left me enjoying kale-banana smoothies, so I figured I was ready to venture into the world of vegetable juices.

First, a note about the nutrition. Odwalla Carrot Juice is 100% carrot juice, with the only ingredient being "pure pressed carrots." Fantastic! One bottle contains two 8 ounce servings, each of which has 70 calories, no fat, 1 gram of fiber, 13 grams of sugar, and 2 grams protein. Each serving also provides 520mg potassium (15% RDA), 400% Vitamin A, 4% calcium, and 4% iron. Pretty impressive!

Unfortunately, the taste was less than impressive. In fact, it was kind of gross. I smelled it before drinking, and it had a carrot-y odor - which wasn't surprising or bad - but unfortunately, it smelled like rotten carrots. I figured it couldn't possibly taste as bad as it
smelled, so I tentatively took a sip. Ugh! It was in fact just as bad as it smelled, if not worse. I'm not sure if I just don't like carrot juice in general, or if it was the brand - but this I will not be drinking again.

... There's more. Continue reading 'Odwalla Carrot Juice'...
