Even with some of the neglect that' s gone on here in the last couple of weeks -- owing to a project I had to take on -- things are still heading exactly in the right direction for moulding Free the Animal (FTA) into a mainstay in the area of nutrition and fitness from a strictly evolutionary perspective.
It works, really benefits people, is simple and fun, and perhaps best of all: there are few completely right or wrong answers. It' s an approach, a mindset, a discipline; it' s a way of life or life-way with a lot of flexibility because nature exists on many planes in lots of varied environments from rain forests to arctic, and everything in between. And amazingly, humans, perhaps unique among all species but bacteria, have demonstrated an ability to survive and thrive almost anywhere on the face of the earth. And it' s all locked right up in your genes. It' s the Animal in you, and we' re here to help you free it.
In terms of nutrition, that amounts to wide variation from a Kitavan-like diet high in starchy carbs (but with no fake-foods of civilization), to an Inuit style diet of virtually all meat and animal fat -- and everything in-between. In terms of exercise, it can be weight machines, free weights, kettleballs, plyometrics, cross fit, and all combinations thereof; 2, 3, even 4 times per week, 20, 30 or even 40 minutes. Combine the vast array of diet, nutrition, and exercise choices, toss in some flexible intermittent fasting whenever you like (workout days, non-workout days, a combination) and you truly have an individual program for every individual.
What' s more, only you can ultimately find the best combination. So, this is not at all a one size fits all, but a continuous improvement process of identifying and understanding core principles and applying them to your own unique situation. We' re here to snoop out the most relevant information, new information, and in many cases, ancient wisdom long forgotten. And we do a lot of bashing in terms of modern ignorance, arrogance, and downright stupidity. So while no one size fits all, we do strive to be a one-stop shop, if that' s what you want. Or, let us be one of your many resources. We' re delighted either way.
Here' s a bird' s eye view of how things are going since dropping the political blogging to focus exclusively on evolutionary fitness in September.

So, roughly, for the last year through August, about 7,500 visitors monthly, 10,000 page views. In two months, visits have doubled and page views are up 150%. That tells me we' re on the right track. I hope it also means that FTA readers are getting more out of the content here, as well.
