Leek-harvestedLeeks have excellent nutritional value.

Leeks contain:

  • fiber
  • folic acid
  • calcium
  • vitamin C
  • vitamins
  • quercetin, an antioxidant, that is thought to fight cancer
Leeks can be grown in the vegetable garden for most of the year. they are well worth growing with and have an important nutritional value.

Leeks are a good option if regular onions are too strong for you. Try substituting them for onions in your next recipe.
