Not a bad gig

Posted Jul 29 2009 12:00am

What a morning so far. I woke up and did NOT want to get out of bed-as usual-but pushed myself because I knew I didn’t run yesterday so I really needed to do it today. It was a long run day, and I set out to run for an hour and 20 minutes. It was humid out, and I felt like I was running so slow. It was rough, but I pushed through. Here are my stats…

*Time: 1:22:00
*Distance: 8.70 mi
*Pace: 9:30min/mile

I thought I was running a lot slower then that so I was VERY pleased with myself. This is the longest distance I have run so far so I was very happy to have that done and out of the way. My 1/2 marathon is coming up in October and I have a lot of work to do since I felt like I was dying today running just 8 miles!

I came home and had a delicious breakfast

*Stonyfield Organic yogurt Vanilla with chocolate on the bottom
*2 tbs hemp seeds
*Grapes
*coffee w/ organic almond milk

I love this flavor of yogurt-it tastes like dessert. It is chocolaty and rich. Hopefully my breakfast will hold me over till lunch today.

Meanwhile at work-we were tasting wine (yes, we get to taste a LOT of wine-one of the great perks of the job) and one of our reps brought olive oil to taste. This olive oil just came from Italy and was delicious!

The Extra Virgin was a little bitter for me and had a very green taste to it. But the Olive Oil infused was truffles was the most aromatic and exotic olive oil I have ever tasted. It was to die for. I have never had anything like it. It almost smelled of garlic and left a taste in your mouth that lingered for hours. So tasty-I hope we can get this in our store!

I ate 1 small slice of baguette with 2 dips of olive oil–mm mm yummy!
