No Rib For Me

Posted Apr 10 2009 11:34pm

Hi friends :)

Well tonight we celebrated my brother’s 19th birthday at Kojak’s House of Ribs. Its a down home South Tampa landmark and reminds me a LOT of Tuscaloosa!

I ended up being SO FULL though from my late lunch with Abbie + brownie and ice cream! ;) How is it that when I prepare my own raw food it never fills me up but when I go out and get gourmet raw food I am full for hours?! Regardless, I really didn’t feel like a heavy bbq dinner tonight so I just got a couple sides instead.

A dry house salad ( my brother ate the croutons):

And a side of AMAZING baked beans + 2 half corn on the cobs with no butter. The first one was so good that I ordered another!

Check out Ryan’s dinner! ;)

I was stuffed after this, even though it was a smaller meal, because I wasn’t really hungry to begin with. My appetite is also a lot less intense on my non-exercise days! At home, I opted for one of Abbie’s raw donut holes instead of the cookie cake I baked at work for John.

Ahhh drool, drool, dool!!!!!!!!! This was SO GOOD! Seriously. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this totally blew away my expectations! The donut hole was dense and delicious and actually tasted like cupcake or donut! Since I have the cookbook these are from, I will be making these asap when my stash from Abbie runs out. You don’t even need a dehydrator!

I don’t even have to tell yall how tired I am right now. Fridays are a killer but so worth it :). Tomorrow is (hopefully) a 5 mile run then a day in the sun!

This afternoon I enjoyed some cranberry kombucha in a wine glass…check out all the lovely new books that Gena sent me!!! I am starting the Flannery O’Connor first.
