Newport Beach Chiropractor: Sweet Beverages- Obesity & Diabetes

Posted Aug 02 2010 11:20am

A research done by Internal Medicine Archives in July of 2008 showed that regular consumption of sweetened soft drinks and fruit drinks is associated with obesity as well as an increased risk of type-2 diabetes mellitus in patients. While there has been increasing public awareness of the adverse health effects of soft drinks, little attention has been given to fruit drinks, which are often marketed as a healthier alternative to soft drinks. Type II Diabetes is the leading cause of death in the United States, and the incidents are increasing year after year.  You should be aware that fruit drinks are “not a healthy alternative to soft drinks.”  There is no real substitute for real veggies and fruits.  Losing weight, exercising and choosing healthier eating habits will help reduce stress, obesity, risk of diabetes and many more life threatening diseases. You’re not sure where to start? Call us for a consultation @ 949.387.1333. Make sure to ask about our Detoxification Program. You can start to lose weight, keep it off, start healthier habits and live a healthier life TODAY. Staying away from boxed juices and soft drinks should be your very first  step.
