These rolls aren't just any rolls. These rolls are the dinner rolls that won the heart of the man I would now call my husband.
The first time I made these for Travis, he kissed me for the first time.
The second time I made them, he told me he loved me.
The third time I made them, we were married.
If that's not luck for a girl, what is?
Now granted, at the time I did make them with sugar. But since I've become aware of the better alternatives, my hubby has been just as happy with the replicas. After all, he's still sticking around for them!
A major perk to this recipe is that they are super easy to make. I know some people shun recipes the second they see the y word. You don't have to be afraid of yeast here; it's honestly a no fail recipe! Best part about it: they truly are made from start to finish in about an hour!
4 1/2- 5 cups Spelt Flour, White Flour or White Wheat Flour 1/4 cup Powdered Honey 5 Tablespoons unsalted Butter at room temperature 2 Large Eggs, beaten at room temperature 1 teaspoon Sea Salt or Pink Salt 1 Tablespoon Powdered Honey 1 1/4 cup scaled Milk 1 Tablespoon Yeast in 1/2 cup Warm Water
Measure out yeast and put into 1/2 cup of warm water. Pour 1 Tablespoon of powdered honey over it and set aside.
Scald milk by microwaving for 2 minutes. Melt butter into milk and let cool. Meanwhile, beat eggs with a fork in a large bowl. Add 1/4 cup powdered honey and salt. Pour milk and butter mixture into large bowl. Mix together and let cool if still warm.
Add yeast to the cooled mixture. Add 4 + cups of flour until right consistency. It shouldn't be sticky. Knead dough for five minutes. Cover with a towel and place in a warm area to let rise for 25-30 minutes. Pinch out 1 inch smooth balls and place 3 together into a muffin pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Brush with butter when out of oven and serve.
Yields 24 rolls
