My Own Recipe for Exotic Asian Style Dressing - Eating Healthy Nutritious Food

Posted Apr 30 2008 11:01pm

I recently created this dressing out of boredom with my typical vinegar/oil combinations.

I've given it to several friends to try and one called me the other day to get the recipe...which I didn't have!

I don't cook by measurements, when I'm creating, that is. I want to get on with
eating healthy nutritious food, not labor over how I made it, ha! That's why this site isn't a cooking site. I love to cook and am very proficient at it, but I'm sort of like an abstract artist in that way, or a doodler with a notepad. I NEVER have any idea what I'm doing while I'm doing it. And 99.9% of the time, it turns out fabulous. I'd share all my wonderous recipes here if I only knew exactly what/how much goes into each thing.

But my friend's call challenged me to get in the kitchen (even in the midst of 5 kids and husband making their own lunches) and figure out what I'd done the first time to make this dressing.

I'd feature a photo of it here, but unfortunately, it just looks, well, white!

Here's the ingredients. I hope you'll make and enjoy...

MERRY'S DELIGHTFUL ASIAN DRESSING:

-1 cup of plain
yogurt

-1/4 cup of sour cream

-1/2 tsp each of salt, ginger, onion powder, garlic powder

-2 tsp of
Apple Cider Vinegar

-2 Tbsp of honey

-1/3 cup of
coconut oil. (If the oil is not melted, heat on the stovetop.)

**Let me add here that not all coconut oils are created equal! They vary GREATLY in taste depending on their purity. And since that is the featured ingredient in this recipe you'll want

the purest and best. ** My source:

"COCONUT PURE" from Uri International. It's extra virgin, raw, and organic.

Order from
www.uriinternational.com/food4thejourney. It's listed in the

"whole foods" product line.

I began making my own
salad dressings years ago by experiment. That was even before I knew anything about what MSG was and what it does to you. It's in just about every salad dressing out there; although, not all of them. It just seems that the homemade version always tastes so much better to me.

Hey, did you notice the
