This past month my body has been through quite the obstacles!
A little over a month ago, I came down with what seemed to be the flu and a stomach virus. After having both for about week, the flu seemed to have gone away, but the stomach virus did not.
After about two weeks of just not feeling well, I decided to take a pregnancy test just for the heck of it. Little did I know that I was in for quite the surprise….a positive reading.
I remember walking out of the bathroom saying, “oh my gosh, oh my gosh,” and my husband walking in asking, “what?” What is going on?” When I showed him the positive pregnancy test, he couldn’t help but to be surprised and happy all at once. Me? I was still in shock….being pregnant was not on my radar.
As soon as it sunk in, my thoughts began to try to get the best of me. You see, three years ago I experienced a molar pregnancy. Hubby and I found out that were pregnant while celebrating our anniversary at a local hotel. We were beyond excited! Thoughts began filling my mind of being a mom. I was ready to begin this new chapter in my life.
Unfortunately, that excitement was short lived. A few days later I was admitted to the ER where it was later confirmed that I had a molar pregnancy and would require surgery the following day.
All of a sudden, our dreams, hopes and smiles faded away into the distance. This was not what I had signed up for.
Fast forward to today, and once again, you find me…happy, scared, and worried all at the same time. My mind began playing tricks on me again.
You see….I know that I’m not the only one who does this. Think about it….when something takes place in our lives, how many times do we tend to focus on the bad that can happen? For some of us, we actually drive ourselves crazy and sometimes even to the point of sickness thinking about the “worst” thing that can happen.
But you know what’s even sadder? When we allow our thoughts of “what might happen” to keep us from not only taking joy in today and what God wants to do in our life today, but when we hold ourselves back from taking a step forward because of what we fear might happen.
I wonder how many of us have missed out on the great things that God wants to do in our lives because we’ve allowed our thoughts to get the best of us?
You see….if I would have held on to what took place with the molar pregnancy, my husband and I would have never of had our sweet little Liam who became a part of our family in 2009. Honestly, I can’t imagine life without him.
As I mentioned earlier, hubby and I found out about two weeks ago that we were pregnant. About one week ago, it was confirmed by the doctor that I had miscarried. Our hearts were broken. And while we don’t have any answers or reasons as to why this took place, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him. Despite the hurt, obstacles, pain, and sadness that we experience in this lifetime, I know that my God is good and that He has good things in store for us.
So today, may you be encouraged. No matter what you are currently facing in life, may you know that your God has good things in store for you. Even though your fears, worries and anxieties will try to get the best of you, don’t let them. Don’t let yourself miss out on all that God wants to do in your life.
Remember, God has already written every page of your life in His book. Don’t allow yourself to get stuck on just one page. Instead, allow yourself to move forward knowing that He has your best interest at hand, no matter what your life may look like right now.
If you want to see God move like never before, than you have to trust like never before. Even when it scares you! Believe me, I’m living proof of that!
So today, think about how you will move forward despite your fears and worries. And please, share with me below…I would love to hear and pray for you! We can do this! You’ve got an amazing life to live! Don’t hold yourself back anymore!
