My Current Obsession- Maca Milkshake + Register for The Art of Eating Webinar!

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday!

I have got to share my current obsession- Raw Maca Powder.  I tried this a while back and was just ho-hum on it but then I discovered a magical recipe that has changed my life!
Holli Thompson,of  Nutritional Style  and fellow IIN'er sent me this  recipe  and I knew I had to make it ASAP!  



Maca root has been used in indigenous Andean societies as a source of nourishment and healing for thousands of years, and continues to be one of the most appreciated superfoods today. Used to increase stamina, boost libido, and combat fatigue, maca root has long been regarded as a highly adaptogenic food. Navitas Naturals Raw Maca Powder is the raw and natural form of this special root – gently dried and ground to preserve its vitality and nutritional structure. With an earthy taste that is slightly nutty with a hint of butterscotch, maca is easily blended into superfood smoothies, various milks, chocolates, or mixed into flour for dessert recipes.

This healthy milkshake completely rocks and I literally have made one of these a day for the past week.  First, the shake is so freaking delicious and second, it gives me tons of energy and makes me feel radiant. Truly it does!


I made a few tweaks to the original recipe but either way it is absolutely delicious and even feels a bit naughty : )

Healthy Maca Milkshake


1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk1/2 frozen banana1 1/2 tbsp maca powder1 tbsp chia seeds2 tbsp raw cashew nuts2 pitted medjool dates1 tbsp ground flax seeds1 tsp organic vanillashake of nutmegshake of cinnamon3 -4 ice cubes3 drops vanilla liquid stevia (optional)
I have made it with and without the stevia and could not really tell the difference.

Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender.
Enjoy!

And now I am off to school to sign Emmet up for the 7th Grade Trip to Washington, D.C.  I am hoping they need chaperones so I can tag along.  I love D.C. and it seems like many moons since I have been there.  We shall see.
