I don’t tell most of my real life friends about this blog. I think the only one who reads it is Jason. While exposing my inner most thoughts to strangers on the internet is no biggie, having my friends find out my deep dark secrets is scary. The majority of things that I blog about are “safe.” Recipes, workouts, etc. But I do talk sometimes about issues that I have with food and body image and while some of my close friends do know about my struggles, I don’t get typically get into the nitty gritty details with them.
So, last night I was playing around on Twitter. I had sort of forgotten about it for several months. I did one of those email searches for friends and found a bunch of people including my mother. So, what did I do? I friended them (or whatever the term is for Twitter) completely not thinking about how there is a link to my blog in my profile. This morning I realized what I had done and removed the link, but my mother had already seen and started following my page. So, I had to ask her not to read the blog if she hadn’t already.
It’s kind of a Catch 22. I want more readers but yet, I don’t tell anyone about the blog. I guess I could censor myself more and then it wouldn’t matter, but it’s kind of like what’s the point of having an outlet for my feelings if I have to censor them.
Onto the food. Dinner was a super easy Indian meal with ingredients all from Trader Joe’s.
It’s a frozen potato medley with some shrimp that I mixed with TJ’s Korma simmer sauce. I served it on top of couscous. This was super easy to make and had a good flavor. The only thing was that I wasn’t paying attention and sort of burned the veggies a little bit.
