Monthly Faves: January 2013

Posted Feb 01 2013 7:30am

I know I just did a 2012 Favorites post, but I wanted to start the year off right and tell you all of my favorite products from January! I’m going to try to make this a monthly thing. We will see how that goes. ;)

This month I have a nice combo of beauty, food, and an everyday favorite. Lets get to it!

1. Maybelline Instant AgeRewind Eraser Dark Circles in 160 Brightener

This stuff is magical. I put it on before I do my foundation and it instantly brightens up my entire eye area. It doesn’t look forced, or caked on, or seep into my slight eye wrinkles. I use the Brightener color and not the actual color concealer. It looks light when it goes on but really blends in well with my skin. I often will use this and no foundation too.

2. The Laughing Cow Light Blue Cheese Wedges

I have to limit myself on these bad boys. I could easily eat the whole little cheese round. They are so good and a great lower fat substitute for regular ol’ blue cheese. Ok, so they aren’t exactly the same but the taste is there. I crumble it up on salads and often throw it into a pan to melt down and make a sauce for shrimp.

3. Essie Matte About You

This is such a cool nail polish trick. You paint your nails as normal and then use this as a top coat and your super glossy nail polish instantly becomes a matte polish. This works for any polish and is such a cool look! Check out this manicure from She Paints Her Nails .

4. Ponds Luminous Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes

These face wipes take off all my makeup. ALL OF IT. They also make my face feel so smooth and clean without that tight feeling. It is gentle enough to not bother my slightly sensative skin, but also strong enough to get the makeup off. The wipes are a bit more wet than other wipes and you do need to rinse your face once you use it. They are great for traveling too!

5. Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle

I absolutely adore my Klean Kanteen. It doesn’t add any funky metal taste to my water and the bottle itself doesn’t trap funky odors in it. It also really keeps my cold water cold. I aim to drink about 80 oz of water a day so I fill mine up several times throughout the day. I’m debating even getting a bigger one to carry in my car whenever running errands.

6. Tazo Passion Tea

If you are a fan of the Passion Iced Tea from Starbucks then you love this tea. I just recently got into tea and this is my absolute favorite. I finally found it online and bought up several boxes. I love the slightly tart flavor and it is perfect without any sugar, honey or any other additions. It is the perfect treat mid-day or at night too. Also, if you follow me on Instagram then you have seen this tea a number of times. Be prepared to see it more! :)

7. NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Beige (LG129)

I picked up this lipgloss while I was visiting my parents over Christmas at their brand new Ulta store. It is super glossy without being sticky and it is a great neutral color. It is more pink than Beige so I was a bit thrown off by the color name. I will definitely be picking up a few more of these the next time I am near an Ulta!

8. Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

This has been party of my lipstick bag for YEARS. I always end up coming back to it. It looks so dark in the tube but it goes on with a lovely sheer color that adds just a nice hint of color to the lips. It is smooth and keeps my lips moist. I throw this in my bag all of the time because it will go with any outfit or makeup style.
