Mixing it up

Posted Nov 04 2009 10:08pm

HAPPY FRIDAY!
And a not-so-happy September 11th… I know this is a very sad day for our country, and my heart reaches out for all those who were affected by the horrific attacks 8 years ago.

On a happier note, I mixed it up a bit today because my class didn’t start until 11, so I attempted to sleep in… well, that failed miserably, but oh well. I got 45 extra minutes at least!

I woke up, guzzled some h20 and made breakfast instead of heading right to the gym.
2009_0428AF Okaaayy I know I’m being boring with my egg scrambles. But they’re just soooo good!
The usual- 3/4 c egg whites cooked with Garlic + Herb Mrs. D, LCL wedge, tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms. Plus ezekiel toast and a teeeeny bit of Bonne Maman. No worries, I measured-this was entirely in my BFL carb allotment =)

THEN I went to the gym, and did a pretty efficient LBWO- I’m not taking as long, but still feeling great!

LBWO 9/11

Abs

Incline sit ups- Total= 50 (in between lunges)

Curl ups- Total= 100 (in between calf raises)

Side curl ups- Total= 100 (after legs)

After my workout I showered and made my way to campus where I had to park farrrr away because I was later (boo…) but I took the bus because it was raining. Otherwise I would have walked. But my new white North Face backpack doesn’t like the rain. ;)

So I had some time to kill before class, so I drank my delicious recovery meal/meal #2 over my Experimental Foods text…
2009_0428AG
Choco banana deliciousness! 1/2 c almond milk, HUGE naner, Choclate EAS protien powder+ lots and lots of ice.

This held me pretty well throughout the (kind of) interesting talks about 1914 in my history class… then I came home!

And made Meal #3…
2009_0428AIBFL-friendly tuna salad (chunk light tuna, 1/2 tbsp each light mayo + relish) with spring greens and sprouts, raw veggies to chomp on

Then it was time for millions of hours of annoying reading  studying!
I studied, and then I made dinner… at 3pm!
I put together my amazing chili (if I do say so myself)- check it out on my Recipes Page  and let it simmer for 2 hours when I went to my sister’s game.

I snacked on this delicious bar on the way for meal #4…
2009_0429AB  My sister’s team won all four of their matches! Yeah Lady Mariner’s Volleyball!

I was happy to see her win, and just as happy to come home and have a big comforting bowl of chili…
2009_0429AD This chili IS BFL friendly- I use lean turkey for protein, no added fat, and kidney beans, black beans and corn for carbs. It was so filling!!

Tonight I am being lazy because I did a bunch of work this afternoon, and tomorrow is my FREE DAY… I’m doing Bagelz (again!) with my mom and my cousin is coming over later in the evening for a fun girls night. I can’t wait!!

Have a great weekend, all!!
