I had this for breakfast the other day. I must confess, I was sitting at the computer, on the couch (possibly in my nightgown) for my breakfast. When you have a mostly food blog, every meal becomes a blogging opportunity. As I looked at my bowl, I remembered that I hadn't done a post on millet in a long while. Out came the camera ...
Millet is a grain that is an equal to brown rice. It may even be higher in protein. Talk about superfoods ... millet has many health benefits and fiber is one of them.
MILLET 1 cup millet, washed 3 cups spring water pinch sea salt
Place millet and spring water in a pot. Bring to a boil over high flame, add sea salt and cover.
Lower flame, place on a flame deflector or simmer burner, simmer 35 minutes. Remove millet from heat and place in a serving bowl.
Sprinkle with some toasted sunflower seeds and serve with a side of streamed greens, for a hearty breakfast (lunch or dinner!).
