Meditations and Music for Sound Healing

Posted Oct 25 2008 4:48pm

My sister Ruth and I are once again on our way to Logan (Gayle & Oprah!) ... we are riding in the Town Car this time! And, we're both listening to our CD players. What are we listening to?

Dr. Mitchell Gaynor's, Meditations and Music for Sound Healing. It's the BEST "healing  music" CD I've listened to in a long time and I came upon it last time I was in Florida at Border's Books and Music. I was just perusing around for something, anything that piqued my interest. What I was really looking for at the time was a book on tape, but nothing seemed to appeal to me that day. Funny how these things happen, isn't it?

I listened to it on my last flight and felt very energized, or "right" after I got off the plane. I let Ruth listen and she loved it, too. So now we both have a copy! The interesting thing is that later I started reading a book by Devra Davis called, The Secret History of the War On Cancer, and Dr. Gaynor had written an endorsement of it. Reading the endorsement made me go to his Web site and find out a little more about him. He's an oncologist.

His site says: "Gaynor Integrative Oncology bases its programs and treatments on the proven connection between the body and the mind. The combination of nutrition, mind-body techniques and state-of-the-art allopathic medicine at G.I.O. is truly a fulfillment of the third line of the Hippocratic Oath which every doctor takes upon graduation from medical school. It states 'I will keep pure and holy both my life and my art.' ”

What could possibly be more important in creating a healing partnership between doctor and patient?
