It’s been awhile since I updated but you guys all know how the holidays can get. Considering that we had three celebrations to go to all over the state, it wasn’t too horrible. We did have some good eats:
Bacon wrapped water chestnuts are soo good!
J and I actually got to spend Christmas Day by ourselves, which we spent making cheesy sausage dip, watching movies and just hanging out. We actually grilled out for dinner, since Mother Nature decided that rain was more appropriate than snow. We happened to get some great deals on pork at the store, and J got a steak. It was a pretty good idea!
And the dip…
I have to say this is the hardest thing to make look appetizing on camera… There is a reason why J calls it “barf dip”. But it is delicious and simple! It’s just 2 blocks of cream cheese, a roll of spicy sausage that has been browned and a can of Rotel heated up in a crockpot.
Other than running around like a crazy woman, it’s been pretty boring around here. I actually made dinner for the first time in like, forever, and I got to use some of the new kitchen-y things that my momma got for me for Christmas. J requested something with lots of garlic and I delivered. I made a dinner like this in the past, but with much more garlic! It’s just a bunch of veggies, with ground turkey, GARLIC, onion cooked with some chicken broth and italian seasoning, topped with parm.
He was pleased.
It’s totally weird to think that tomorrow is the last day of 2009. I cannot believe how fast this year went! I didn’t really have any resolutions from last year, and have only made one this year, which is to make more of an effort to get the gym 4-5 days a week. I just need to check myself, especially after an indulgent holiday season.
