Know your ABC’s but more importantly know your Vitamin D!

Posted Jun 01 2009 10:33pm

This will probably be the most important post you will ever read from me.

Do you know your Vitamin D levels? Vitamin deficiency is becoming an epidemic but the most important of all is Vitamin D. Sunshine is not enough! I will start with where it all starts: with Mom! I am learning more and more how important it is to know your vitamin levels and heavy metal levels before pregnancy (or even after you’ve had kids) because you pass these levels on to your baby. If you are deficient, your baby is deficient, and when they grow up their baby will be deficient, etc. Here’s a very important article from the NY Times on how Vitamin D deficiency can be passed on to your baby and how it may have been passed on by your mom to you.

This is a cycle we can all stop with a generation of knowledge. So pass on the knowledge and help stop the cycle! The video at the end of my post is beyond valuable. I hope you will find it as useful and educational as I did.

Vitamin D Deficiency has been linked to many diseases and cancers including: Alzheimers, Breast Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Skin Cancer, Autism, Diabetes

Here’s a great list of facts and details.

Doctors everywhere are speaking up on this and feel so passionate about it that they are trying to spread the word. Here’s a great video for your quickie education!

There’s also new evidence that Vitamin D deficiency is linked to cervical/vaginal infections ( Read Here ). I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s linked to cervical cancer. I suspected when I began this journey that everything was connected. You can’t just give out vaccines and expect the problem to go away (yes I’m talking about Gardasil). What if you didn’t need a risky potentially dangerous and sometimes deadly vaccine but all you needed was a supplement of D3?!!! You have to stop and ask, “what is creating this problem?” and not just put a band aid on it. So keep reading and keep learning! Take charge of your own health!

This is a huge AHA moment for me as it may possibly explain the “hereditary” aspects of cervical cancer which nobody has been able to explain to me yet with anything more than a shrug of the shoulders and a “it’s not hereditary”. My guess is it’s probably because of a family history of Vitamin D deficiency. If cervical cancer is not hereditary than how is it that every woman for the past 3 generations in my family has been diagnosed with cervical cancer at the same age! Maybe it’s not hereditary on a genetic level but it certainly isn’t just due to chance or circumstance as I was told. I just knew in my gut that there had to be a connection. Maybe it’s not a gene but maybe it’s something else! Something we were eating or doing or something that we all had that was making us predisposed to this cancer. How else does it hit three generations of women in my family at the same age? I’m not a rocket scientist but I was a scientist and I know a pattern when I see one.

Well my guess is that the deficiency had been passed on over and over again. Perhaps my great grandmother was deficient, which then was passed to my grandmother (who developed cervical cancer), then it was passed to mom (who developed cervical cancer), and then to me (I  luckily caught it early and reversed it). I’m only now realizing the connection of my Vitamin D deficiency to my reversal of cervical dysplasia as it was not prescribed to me as part of therapy for dysplasia but was diagnosed separately by chance by my other doctor. I am the first to not have had cervical cancer in my family. It also didn’t miss me or pass me by but I reversed it. That to me is the most important link and evidence. This is how we can stop the cycle of cancer. I think it stands to reason that it’s not the cancer that is passed down but the deficiency. At least as far as cervical cancer goes but perhaps with others too! Looks like I need to update my “ Girls Corne r”!! (the story of how I reversed cervical dysplasia, got rid of high risk HPV and candida).

There should be a term called Hereditary Deficiency Syndrome or something. I think this could go for more than just cervical cancer. It’s a fascinating topic and I encourage everyone to get your levels checked and educate yourself. Vitamin D deficiency could also explain the family history of Diabetes on my Dad’s side as well as my own insulin sensitivity which has since gone away now that I am no longer Vitamin D deficient. Coincidence? I think not! It also explains the rickets my cousin got in Ireland as her mom was probably deficient when she breastfed as described in the article above. It also explains my history of auto-immune disease. It’s also important to note that mercury poisoning (which I am currently reversing - often caused by mercury fillings ) causes Vitamin D deficiency as well. So much to learn!  SO PASS THIS KNOWLEDGE ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!

It’s good to know your ABC’s but more than anything know your Vitamin D!

YOU CAN TEST YOUR OWN LEVELS AT HOME!! There is a kit that you order here. For more wonderful information read THE VITAMIN D REVOLUTION by Dr. Khalsa and I’m not just biased because he’s my doctor. It’s a MUST read for everyone.
