Well, no SNL last night due to the Olympics, but the good news is that I finally got into the Olympics! Up until now I’ve been kind of meh about the whole thing, but Ben and I had ourselves an old fashioned viewing party with a couple of brews, and watched some great events. Speed skating? Sweet! Bobsledding? Awesome! Oh, but those speed skating suits will certainly make a girl blush. Are they sure outfits that tight are legal for tv?!
This morning I woke up bright and early to start on some dinners and lunches for this week. All my single/married life I have grocery shopped on Sunday, but lately I’ve been switching to Saturdays so I have the whole day on Sunday to leisurely prep and not worry about facing the maniacal crowds at the store. It’s so relaxing! This is what Sunday’s should be, you know? Do you do your chores/shopping on Saturday or Sunday?
After a couple hours of good, quiet kitchen time, my stomach started growling, so I made some Hopped Up Cheerios!
I usually pair my Cheerios with a sliced banana, but the bunch I picked up at the store yesterday weren’t quite ripe enough yet. Almonds and dried cranberries made a fantastic addition though!
Kind of like those fancy cereals that you pay an arm and a leg for – but made right at home. This was yum-tastic.
I also had a cup of fresh pineapple. I’m fairly convinced the world would be a much happier place if everyone was able to have fresh pineapple every morning. It is such a delight. And easier to cut than you think. I actually prefer cutting up a fresh pineapple to a fresh cantaloupe. Those seeds/goop!
Ben and I are going to hop over to my parents house for lunch in about an hour. Can’t wait to see what my Mom has concocted this week. She seems to out-do herself every time, so I can’t even imagine what’s in store after last week’s Waffle Bar!
In the meantime, tonight’s dinner is slowly bubbling away in my favorite kitchen appliance – the crock pot. I haven’t used her forever, and tonight’s dinner is an oldie, but a goodie!
See you later, gators!

Are you a cereal purist, or do you mix different kind of cereals and toppings all together?
Good morning!
