Hi doc,

my name is suzie and i wiegh 225. i gained ten pounds over the summer and i spent 2 months going to the gym every day. lost no wieght.

in the current edition of mother earth news it talks about the no carb diet,  and how carbs trap fat into your body. since last week i stopped my carb intake, with the exception of coffee with sugar, and i gave myself the weekends to have bread and potatoes. my main problem has been over eating, this last week i stop at one plate of food and i feel i have been doing very well at this so far. some people do not think it good to cut out carbs, what are your thoughts on this diet deal with or without carbs? i feel like i wasted a lot of time this summer with my diet, even though i was eating healthy i ate too much and i had carbs, whole wheat and grains are still carbs, is there such a thing as healthy carbs?

today i went to the gym and worked out and i am getting ready to have a protein shake now. i like to work out but i would really like to lose wieght, do you have any suggestions? i have started a food diary as well. thanks for your time.
