I was nervous to take it because though I’ve made many positive steps, I don’t consider myself “cured” by any means.
I scored high in several categories, including some of the things the Self survey on disordered eating had shown me about myself which helped me launch this blog.
But two things stood out.
First, that I showed signs of orthorexia. Per the site, “Orthorexia Nervosa is a form of disordered eating characterized by going to extremes in pursuit of a so-called healthy diet. Literally translated, it means “fixation on righteous eating.” A person with this condition obsesses over the quality of the foods they eat, in an attempt to perfect his or her diet.”
And second, that there was a whole section devoted to my shameful habit of chewing-and-spitting . Clearly, I am not alone. And seeing it spelled out like this…wow.
