In the Morning, in the Evening, Ain’t We Got…….Yoga.

Good morning! I must say, I am happy to be sitting here typing instead of reporting for jury duty this morning. I had a summons for today, but when I called last night to find out if I had to report I was glad to hear that I did NOT. As I mentioned yesterday , I did a late morning yoga practice while Cameron had some down time watching cartoons. I did this Shiva Rea DVD:
I like this DVD because it has a matrix menu, allowing you to choose your own practice. I did a sequence of Earth/Fire & Water/Core/Shavasana that came to just over 50 minutes. This a Vinyasa yoga, so I usually do end up breaking a sweat during the flowing poses. I felt renewed and very hungry afterwards. I made a huge salad with spinach, hard boiled eggs, heirloom tomatoes, red onion, and zucchini ribbons. I mixed up a simple dressing with olive oil, red raspberry blush white balsamic vinegar, agave nectar, and tahini. The tahini gives this vinaigrette dressing a creamier texture. I mixed it all up in what has become my favorite salad bowl.
It’s the perfect size for mixing a huge salad.
I told you I was hungry….
After I ate and showered, I saw on facebook that Joy Tree Yoga was starting a new session that night. rarely am I able to attend these classes due to my kid’s sport’s schedules, but this session there is a Monday evening class that I can swing. I was super pumped to find this out and attended a great class last night. Kelly is an amazing teacher and I looking forward to next week already! Yoga classes are so different from practicing at home. When you’re in a class setting there are no distractions and you really get the full experience, where at home it’s difficult to tune everything out.
After yoga class and an Amy’s frozen spinach lasagna for dinner, I settled in for “The Bachelor – The Women Tell All.” I am torn as to whether Courtney’s public apology was genuine or not. I sort of felt bad for her, but I highly suspect that she was doing it to repair her image. All in all, the episode was highly entertaining!
This morning is a run morning. We still have a ton of snow, so it will have to be a treadmill run. Hopefully my treadmill can hold out just a little while longer!
Do you practice yoga? Do you benefit more physically or mentally from yoga? Do you prefer a class setting or the privacy of your own home?
