I had a few more juice ideas that never came to Fruition this week! I just got too busy. But here is some other things we were planning to do with juice:
- We made juice ice cubes in heart shaped ice cube trays. I found the trays at our thrift store. We then froze orange juice and put the heart cubes in glasses of water. This is great so you don’t get TOO much juice, just a little flavor.
- Throw juice ice cubes in a food processor or blender. It makes a yummy frozen treat like a sorbet. It really works well!
- Using juice to sweeten up your food while cooking. I did not get a chance to experiment with this, but you can use frozen juice concentrate in baked goods for your sweetener!
So, Yesterday I made the trek to Chicago. I hardly had to wait at the airport. The plane arrived in record time, and yet I was late for dinner. Somehow, when I got to the curb to find a cab, I was a bit confused. The first cab driver I asked for a ride said he couldn’t drive downtown. Then I was told I was waiting on the wrong level of the street. So I went down stairs, and saw signs for pre-arranged taxi’s. I tried calling a phone number to pre-arrange. They asked where I was going, and for the life of me, I couldn’t remember the name of the hotel. I blurted out, “I think it was the Madison Hotel.” They tried to look it up, and said there was no such thing. Finally I decided to just get in any cab and then I would figure it out, knowing the drive was at least 20 minutes or longer.
I found an airport worker who was ushering people into cabs and I got one. I would have taken the train, but it was late, and I was running really late for dinner by this point.
I got in, and told him, “The James Madison Hotel”. He said he didn’t know of that one. After a little discussion, we concluded, it must be the JAMES hotel. No Madison’s involved. So, he took me there. Luckily, he was right!
Finally I’m here in Chicago, ready to learn all about juice. Dinner last night was terrific and I hung out with some great bloggers. I met:
Kristin from That’s Fit, Laurelonhealthfood , Melissa the consumer Queen, Jenn of Fitbottomedgirls, Fitz of Fitzness, Sarah of Totally Her, and Maridel of vitaljuice!
