Ideas for portion control

Portion control is important for those trying to consume less calories per meal, eat healthier and lose weight. There are several ways it can be done, I've found two that have worked for me. 
1. Instead of using the larger plate of your table setting, choose the smaller one when eating foods like pasta. Be careful that you're not piling it on too high, which I struggled with at first since it just didn't seem like enough. Remember your goal, and once you're done eating, you'll likely realize that the amount is just right.
2. When eating meats and other proteins, eat a piece no bigger than the size of your fist.

Raw food eaters claim that on a raw food diet, you can eat a much as you like. It is not about how much you eat, it is about what you eat. Perhpaps you could look into it.
I struggle with portions so I will give this a shot starting tomorrow.
