I made my first batch of ice cream by throwing some random ingredients into a blender & dumping them into the ice cream machine. What I totally forgot was that ice cream-making is a delicate process. You need just the right ratio of liquid:solid:fat:sugar…
So next time, I’ll be following a recipe!
This is a Deni Automatic Ice Cream Maker in blueberry.
You don’t need any salt or ice- all you do is freeze the canister.
It made the ice cream relatively quickly
Easy to assemble & operate
It claimed to make ice cream in 10-20 minutes…but it took me 40 minutes. I’m not sure what standard freezing times are (or if it was the recipe I made)- just wanted to note that!
The canister is sort of bulky in the freezer- you have to make space
You need to wait ~8 hours for the canister to freeze. No spur-of-the-moment churning, ya hear?
Overall, I like this product! I see a lot of frozen experiments in my future.
*Today, I worked at Macy’s (yawn) and then went for an awesome run. I don’t know what happened to Maryland last night, but all the humidity *vanished*. I could actually…breathe!
I re-fueled with a new bar –>
Please pardon these strange, off-colored photos…
It was alright The texture was perfect but it was really lacking in flavor. It had a generic, factory “sugar” taste & I was really expecting some more blueberry/oat/vanilla….something. I most likely won’t buy it again.
