When you say you’re hungry and shaky after you first wake up, that tells me one thing: low blood sugar. Your body is used to being on the sugar rollercoaster, and it seems like it’s gotten to the point where you’re almost physically addicted to sugar (unless you have a history of diabetes/hypoglycemia). Let me ask you this: Are you hungry again in about 30-60 minutes?
I would try to cut back gradually to the point where your breakfast consists of more protein and fat than carbs and sugar. If you still want OJ later, have it, but at least you won’t be setting yourself up for a sugar crash mid-morning.
Try eating your banana with Greek yogurt, regular plain yogurt, nut butter, or nuts instead of the OJ. Break the sugar addiction! :)
