Hi Fraz, you make a couple of interesting points.  First, you noticed that your emotions get in the way of your appetite, which is not unusual.  We respond to emotional stress in many ways, and some people binge while other can't eat a bite.  Second, you mention your height and weight, which puts you at a BMI of 22, within normal range.  As for "should" be hungry, I'm not sure there is any "should" in this matter.

Most people have experienced poor appetite at one time or another.  There are many causes to poor appetite.  If it is something you have always experienced and your "normal" weight is always about the same, and if it is usually related to your emotions, this may just be the norm for you.  If, on the contrary, this is something new and you're losing weight, if you're taking medications, if you feel sick (fever, diarrhea, headache, excessive thirst), if you feel constantly "low",  or have any other medical condition, you might want to talk to your personal physician about it.
