5 Stars 10 years of of unrestful sleep
In 1986 I started to work a grave yard shift. I went to work at 10pm and returned home at 6am exhausted. Many times I would fall asleep in my car outside my house in the parking lot. This went on for 14 years. The insomnia started the day after I quit that job. 6 months later I develop hyperthyroidism which lasted for one year. With drugs I was able to get my thyroid under control and no longer needed drugs.
I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue in 2005. The adrenal fatigue treatment made me feel better but the insomnia persisted.
From 2000 to 2010 I’ve tried everything from going to a sleep clinic to a fortune teller.
I’ve only been using Paul McKenna CD for 2 weeks. It has been the only treatment that has helped me consistly get at least 4 hours of sleep. When I wake up I replay the CD and work on one of the techniques. Sometimes it helps me to returned to sleep and sometimes not.
I’ve had this challenge for 10 years I do not expect it to be gone over night. I highly recommend this CD for anyone who wants to find a drug free way of solving there sleep challenges.
5 Stars Finally I can sleep!
I have tried many different things to overcome a lifelong problem of insomnia. I was doubtful if this would work, but I was desperate! I’v never needed to read the book. My husband and I listen to the CD every night and WOW does it work! My husband was positive it would not work on him, as he assured me that hypnosis would not work on him…he was out before I was!
Even on the few nights that I wake up again in the night, I just concentrate on my breathing and start counting backwards from 300 that is taught in the CD and I go right back to sleep. We have been using it over a month now and this is the most sleep I have gotten since I was a child.
Cannot recommend this CD/book enough. I’m now trying his “I Can Make You Thin” book/cd and hope I get the same results.

5 Stars Well it worked for me
I’d just like to add my personal testimony that, like most people who left comments here, the book was helpful enough but the CD was VERY helpful in putting me to sleep and helping the quality of my sleep. I have wicked bad insomnia (which is made worse by being bi-polar and having ADHD) and have tried pretty much every sleep pill you can name (Ambien, Lunesta, Rozerem, Lorazapam, Melatonin, Codiene makes me jittery as does Benedryl, etc) so I’ve had sleep problems my whole life. I’m also very educated on the subject of sleep because it’s always been such a major problem in my life. So, as such, the book didn’t tell me much that I didn’t already know. I did find one or two of the exercises to be of use.
But as many people have already stated, the CD/Audio track is what really paid off. I’ve tried a few things of that nature before but haven’t had much success until this one. My only complaint would be that the voice on the audio track tends to get a fair bit quieter towards the end (as you drift off to sleep) and if you’ve got your CD player set up to repeat when the track loops back to the beginning it suddenly goes from fairly quiet to a lot louder as it warns you not to listen to this while you’re driving. This was really startling me awake for a while so I ripped the track onto my computer and used a MP3 editor to cut off the first two minutes of it so now when it hits the end of the audio track it loops back towards a much more mellow beginning. I’m not sure I explained that real well…. but if you listen to the CD I’m sure you’ll know what I mean so I thought I’d mention it in case it helps someone else.
Bottom line, if you’ve got insomnia, this book and it’s CD worked where dozens of things had failed.
2 Stars Creepy CD!
I bought this book yesterday, and haven’t done hypnosis before, but I have to say that the man who recorded the CD session (it’s not Paul McKenna, but some guy with an English accent) gave me the creeps like nothing else! And I had nightmares last night! It was especially creepy when the recording is two tracks of him saying things overlapping each other, so I can’t even tell what’s being said, which concerns me. Lord knows what my mind is being programmed with. Plus I noticed that as soon as the 20 minute CD was finished, my ears felt like they were kind of humming (I was listening to this on my stereo speakers, not through headphones). I was also acutely aware of small noises I’ve never noticed before when going to sleep – the clock ticking in the bathroom was very clear, and I could hear my cat breathing. It was weird. I did fall asleep soon after but as I said, to a night full of nightmares.
I’m surprised to see no other reviews in which anyone else found the CD disconcerting in any way. I won’t be listening to it again.
I’ll give the book a read but I’m not sure how well I trust this guy now.
