There are lots of changes you can make that will add up to that type of change, including choosing skim milk in your coffee drink at Starbucks, eating a side salad with your evening meal (don't drown it with dressing), having fruit for a snack once a day instead of a pastry, chips or candy. Just pick one thing and change it. It can make a powerful difference over time.
Hello Sue R.- I would like to subscribe to Tufts Letter, and also how to keep the pounds away for good. Thanks.

I wish I had soda to cut out! I don't even touch the stuff! I found watching carbs for a while, drinking more water, and taking fiber is a fast boost to weight loss as well.
Thanks for the info on the tufts site!
Obesity is one of the major health problems that one is facing today. We should focus on weight management along with a healthy diet and an active lifestyle. The combination of fat burn, appetite suppression and energy boosting ingredients provide the perfect blend for proper weight loss.

Great question! And every answer that's been given is absolutely on. I would definitely say that discipline is key. Keep a chart record of your progress and goals, this way you can see a more linear picture of your delevopment. Remember, no pain, no gain (or in this case, loss). Also, talk to a dietician, or an expert in the category. I would recommend you have a look at LivePerson, it's an excellent service that has exactly what you need. Here:
I need to lose 25 pounds according to my doctor and I am interested in doing a colon cleanse.
Has anyone done one?
There is so much to choose from.
I saw a site called http://www.coloncleanse.org and it wasn't trying to sell anything, but it did say you have to be careful as it can be hard.
Has anyone successfully done a colon cleanse?
Did you lose any weight?
I suggest u choose a right and healthy way, only by this way can it be permanent.
U may need a guider to help ur plan, I recommend you try P90X, it will guide u step by

A lot of great ideas on this page. There is no one-step solution but here's a grand list:
- Keep a food and exercise log with two columns: on the left, your Plan and on the right, Actual. Try your best to get as close to your healthy plan as possible.
- We've gone from a species who was physically active for food and survival to one with an overabundance of food and endless amount of work at a computer. Gotta schedule those workouts now. At least a half-hour five to six days a week is doable.
- change it up, keep your body guessing. You'll entertain your mind, and by working a larger variety of muscles, you'll avoid injury, burn more calories and take your weight loss past plateau.
- At the grocery shop the perimeter of the store. The healthiest food items also have the fastest turnover: veggies, fruits, meats, fish, eggs, etc. generally line the sides and back. The less nutritious processed and preserved foods: junk, pastas, cereals, canned food, etc. is in the middle.
- Eat frequent mini-meals so that you stay fueled but don't overfill the tank.
- Take a multivitamin and calcium pill daily. Whole foods are best for nutrient delivery, but consider the pills a "Plan B" for your naughty days.
- RUN your errands. Park far away if you must drive. Those extra steps get your heart rate up and expend extra calories.
- Sleep. 7-8hrs a night. Don't shortchange yourself or the poor people who have to put up with your crabby sleep deprived form. Not only will your daily performance suffer but sensing stress, your body will store fat thinking a famine is coming.
We could (and should) go on for days with this topic...now I'm needing that sleep.

The answer to this question may be easier than you think if you are a soda-drinker, according to what I just read in the Sept. 2007 issue of Tufts University Health & Nutrition Letter.
If you normally consume one regular soda per day, and you cut this out of your daily diet, the calories you save would amount to a 15 pound weight loss in one year!
Sure it won't happen overnight, but what a relatively painless way to go...
BTW...if you are interested in food and health, I'd highly recommend getting a subscription to the Tufts Letter. Post a note or drop me an email and I'd be happy to send you ordering info.
