How can I stop craving food?
I love food but I tend to overeat a lot. Thanks! :D

If I knew the answer to that question, I think I’d be rich! First, you need to figure out WHY you’re overeating:

  • Are you skimping on meals?
  • Are you eating enough throughout the day?
  • Are you eating a lot of cravings-inducing sugar ?
  • Are you eating for emotional reasons?
  • Are you dehydrated?
  • Are you eating out of boredom?
  • Are you eating enough of the right foods (i.e., those that are nutrient-rich, satisfying, and energizing)?
  • Are your hormones out of whack?

There’s nothing wrong with loving food or indulging every so often, but if you’re feeling out of control, it’s time to consider getting some help in figuring out what’s going on. Good luck, and please feel free to email me if you need more guidance.

ETA: A reader just reminded me to direct anybody who feels they struggle with overeating, compulsive eating, bulimia, binge eating, or anorexia issues to Overeaters Anonymous . That’s a great resource. Thanks for the tip!
