Hot, Hot, HOT!!!

Posted Jul 08 2010 8:19pm

Hey y’all! How are you all doing? Life is good here, except it is so HOT! It has felt just as hot here in NY as it does at home. So most of the day I feel like I’m melting and it doesn’t matter where I am!

My in-laws have a pool which we have all been taking advantage of:

There’s been a LOT of eating going on. It’s BBQ time!! The first two days we were home there was family parties. Hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled smoked pork, potato and macaroni salads, and so on and so forth. I tried not to eat too badly, but I honestly ate everything in sight those first couple of days. Plus there were tons of homemade desserts! :)
I cleaned up my eating in a jiffy the third day or so because I was starting to feel AWFUL from the way I’d been eating…basically bloated and gross.

Oh, and just so you know, I haven’t stopped exercising! I’ve been trying to be consistent and have been out every single day in this horrendous heat. I’ve run and done my own versions of boot camp style exercises. Today I was disappointed because I only ran 1.5 miles and then had to walk the rest because it was 89 degrees at 11am. I thought I was going to hurl. Crazy.

I did run across some cows in the pasture this morning:

and some really pretty open land by the farm:

it’s just so discouraging that it’s been so hot out. Those cows were probably really hot!!

I brought my protein powder and homemade trail mix (raw cashews, cacao nibs, and golden raisins) from home and have been mixing both of those into plain yogurt for my lunches. No more dogs and burgers for me! I’ve had my fill! ;)

I promise that it tasted better then it looked! ;)

Of course I’ve been eating fresh eggs again! I need to take a picture of the chickens and other animals (betcha can’t guess what animals are here!!) and post them. It’s been interesting interacting with all the animals. I’m like a tourist; I’ve been walking around with my camera taking pictures!

I’ve also been partaking in english muffins with homemade strawberry jam:

I’m sorry these posts are so short…it’s very tedious posting from my iPhone. Not to mention, but there’s something wrong with it because I can’t get on 3G, and AT&T’s Edge Network is soooooo slllooooowww!!!

Tomorrow we are going for a hike to a waterfall. I havent seen a waterfall since my trip to Jamaica a few years ago. The water is supposed to be really cold mountain water that you can swim in. Can’t wait! Maybe I’ll stop melting! ;)

Have a great night!! I will post again…on the road Sunday for the second half of my trip!
