Holistic Health Tips #1 – Stand up Straight

As a busy mom, busy entrepreneur, and Doctor of Chiropractic, I completely understand the busyness that tends to take over no matter how much we try. With that said, I’ve created a series of tips that are general yet holistic in nature.

I will be sharing one tip each week to help you lead a happier and healthier lifestyle. My mission and goal in life is to educate you to live a happier and healthier lifestyle. Once you learn, you can then teach your loved ones and continue the healthy life cycle. Will it be easy? Absolutely not, but the things most worth it in life neve come easy. 

Here is today’s tip:

Tip #1 – Improve your posture – There was some truth behind your mama’s words when she asked you stand up straight. However, as rebellious children we would take those words to the extreme and stand up like rigid soldiers. What she really meant was to roll your shoulders back to enhance your posture. It is important to keep your spine as straight as possible, so that your muscles are not straining or contracting unnecessarily.  Keeping your nerves unhindered and your spine straight, energy is allowed to circulate freely throughout the body. As odd as that sounds it is truly necessary for you to keep your spine straight. Instead of standing like a soldier, roll your shoulders back and imagine a string attached to the top of your head. When the imaginary string is pulled up, your spine is straightened, your shoulders are comfortably in a rolled back position, your chin is level with the ground and your entire body will thank you. 

Each week I will share another simple tip that will help to enhance your health and lifestyle.  Some will be easy as the one above and some will be a bit more challenging. Are you up for the challenge?
