Heart Health Numbers

Posted Feb 15 2011 11:02am

You go to the doctor and they say that your blood pressure is high or your cholesterol numbers could be better. What is the standard? People are always asking me …

The American Heart Association states:

Total Cholesterol – less than 200

HDL - The Good Cholesterol – woman 50 mg or higher, men 40 mg or higher

LDLThe Bad Cholesterol – depends on your level of risk

Very High – 70

High – 100

Intermediate – 130

Low - 160

Triglycerides – less than 150

Blood Pressure 120/80

Where are your heart health numbers?
