Healthy Cocktails?

Posted by Nirmala N.

I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for low-calorie, nutrient-filled (!) coctails to sip on during the summer months? I love white wine sangria, but I'm looking for a more interesting alternative...

i just had a sake cocktail at a bar last night that was delicious. the brand, ty ku, was doing a promotion- found out its low cal and gluten free. i would check it out. enjoy!

This is a tall order... try these 3:

- Kir Spritzer: 1 tblsp. raspberry or blackberry puree (seedless), 2 oz white wine, 6 oz diet Sprite.

- Virgin Mimosa: 1/2 cup OJ with pulp, 4 oz diet sprite, ice cubes

- Light Caipirinah (my fav!) - Wash a lime, cut it in 8 cubes, and put it in a shaker.  Add 2 teaspoons of organic brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of rum.  Crush the limes with a wooden or marble crusher until all the lime juice is pressed out.  Add 2 tablespoons of water and fill the tumbler with ice cubes.  Shake it all up.  Pour into a tall tumbler.  Top with diet sprite.

There are also a "mandarine" and a "grapefruit" versions: Just the juice and a little rum, lots of ice, and a little diet sprite to extend the drink size without expanding the calories.

SANTE!
