HEALTH and WELLNESS - Combining Physical, Emotional and Spiritual

To pursue wellness, you must find a balance between the physical, emotional, and spiritual areas of your life. And most of it is common sense. But we forget. I think this list is  easy to follow and easy to implement.


* Breathe deeply - inhale and exhale. Taking just a few deep breathes every day can help provide energy to your body.

* Drink water - Most of us DO NOT drink enough water .

* Sleep Well - be quiet, relax and sleep well. Sleep is so important. Make sure your pillow is providing proper comfort. Maybe you need room darkening shades or an eye mask, if the sun is waking you up too early. Is it time for a new mattress?

* Eat nutritiously - avoid fat, sugar and stress . If you are overweight, you may need to be watching calories as well.

Get Moving - lots of good exercise, especially walking and swimming.
Get your body moving, in some way.

Emotional Wellness is an awareness and acceptance of one's feelings. Emotional things we can do:

* Give and receive love - The deepest human love is between people. Make sure those close to you know how much you love them and care for them. Give love - to get love.

* Be forgiving - None of us can afford to carry a grudge.
There was a book out in the 80's - "You can't Afford the Luxury of a Negative Thought!"

* Practice gratitude. Having gratitude and giving thanks can improve your life. Be thankful everyday!

* Develop acceptance - Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

* Develop a relationship with "God" - however you define that. A higher power, a spiritual thought, or some form of prayer.
