Some days call for doughnuts with chocolate frosting and sprinkles.
Then, some weeks call for them. That week was this week. Sugary sweet doughnuts laced with milk chocolate that boast a slight crunch from rainbow sprinkles – a childhood favorite + an adult indulgence. Summer is fading into fall, which has meant the end and beginning of things: starting a new semester, finishing freelance projects, planning for Argentina and enjoying the late summer bounty of zucchini, eggplant, onions + tomatoes in the form of French crepes with ratatouille filling.
And reading! I just bought Zadie Smith’s new book “NW” and have been catching up on the Internet. Here’s some good stuff I’ve read lately:
I wrote an article on papalo. It got published . That is awesome.
Mark Bittman wants you to celebrate the farmer , and I couldn’t agree more.
Having a blog existential crisis? Read this piece from Helen Jane. It’s a good reminder not to take your online life so seriously. And more importantly, it made me want to dance.
Dutch Oven No-Knead Herb Bread . I want.
A FREE 7-Ingredients or Less E-Cookbook from the lovely Dana at Minimalist Baker. Let’s be real – who doesn’t love a simple, delicious meal that doesn’t require a cabinet full of spices to make?
Newly obsessed with Adoravel , which has nothing to do with reading but everything to do with chic, inexpensive jewelry. Go now.
Have a deliciously happy Labor Day Weekend all!
