I started my day off at 8 AM with a lovely this pre-messedYogurt Mess and AB. Betwixt the hidden serving of plain Oikos and sliced banana lay 1/3c of Pumpkin Flax Granola.. That kind has always been my favorite, I love the pumpkin seeds! My only complaint is that the flax seeds are whole, therefore not as prone to complete digestion.
After plenty of experiences with greek yogurt, I was yet to try Oikos until this morning! My opinion? Fantastic. I like how it wasn't too thick, (don't get me wrong, I love me some Fage) but this felt lighter in my tummy. The best part about these single serve containers is that it makes the perfect snack or base to a healthy breakfast. With only 80 calories and 15g protein, I'd consider this yogurt a soul-mate. It's being organic doesn't hurt either :)
I mixed it up with a few spoonfuls of pumpkin, a packet of Stevia, and ~1tsp. of Hersey's Cacoa (also, a first)
I don't care for chocolate bars. I don't like chocolate milk. I can handle some dark chocolate now and then, but, surprisingly, this cocoa knocked my socks off. In addition to being stirred into my yogurt, I've also sprinkled it on some Dreyer's Pumpkin ice cream... causing me to eat more than planned. I can't wait to try it in my oatmeal!
Okay, I have to complain for a sentence or two. In Arizona, I was within a mile of the nearest Trader Joe's... and now, in Utah, THERE ARE NONE. It's almost as if my heart has been ripped out of my chest and stepped on. I miss Joe's fro-yo, tub of animal cookies, almond butter, hummus, granola... everything. TJ's pumpkin butter was my life... and I never even got to try the Pumpkin Spice Granola! If anyone would like to help a foodie out, I'm willing to recompense anyone who'd send me some goodies!
