I'm receiving e-mails from all over the world these days. It made me remember back to when I was about 6 and Mother was telling us excitedly about a person from our neighborhood that was a ham-radio operator. It meant this person had a radio that he could use to contact people from other countries.
She said this with great enthusiasm and pride in her voice, as it was someone from OUR town. At that instant, I wanted to be the ham-radio operator, and vowed to one day talk to people from other countries around the world.
Well, it just dawned on me ... I am a modern-day ham-radio operator. In this age of computers, we all are. It's amazing.
