green tea smoothies

Hey, hey summers here! And I totally just ordered a new black bikini to prove it.

I also cut my air conditioning on for the first time of the year and have the beginnings of tan lines from last weekend’s kayaking adventure .

Summer is a beautiful thing.

And so are these smoothies! They’re a super refreshing blend of green tea, juicy honeydew melon and banana with a touch of almond milk and honey.

Just one sip and you’ll be addicted like me…and that’s a fact.

If you’re one of those people that are freaking out right now, asking “where’s the protein?!”, please calm yourselves. This smoothie isn’t meant to be one of those beefcake-post-workout-green-machine-protein-bomb smoothies.

It’s quite the opposite actually. It’s a smoothie you sip while you bake, a smoothie you sip with a sandwich for lunch, a smoothie you sip while getting a pedicure, a smoothie you sip while driving down the road with the top down and sweet tunes blasting.

No, this smoothie isn’t intended to be a meal replacement although I have half a mind to add a big scoop of almond butter to the blend next time around.

Green tea smoothies  = the new sangria

minus the hangover for optimal sipping power.

And, like a black bikini, never goes out of style.

Green Tea Smoothies

serves 1-2

Ingredients:

1 frozen banana

1/2 large honeydew melon, cut into chunks

3/4 cup strong brewed green tea (use two tea bags and seep for ten minutes)

1 tsp honey

1/4 cup almond milk

Directions:

Blend all ingredients until smooth. Sip while wearing a bikini for ultimate benefits.

Time:

5 minutes
