Green SuperFood + Enduro-Plex

Posted Jun 16 2009 6:53pm

Good Morning or Afternoon.

I am home alone in the house and enjoying this moment before the crew shows up and chaos erupts!

So my sister Sarah is a big time Triathlete and I am having a good time watching her get ready for the Hy-Vee Triathalon next weekend. She is in amazing shape and is also eating for endurance so it is interesting to see what she is doing. She has this Enduro-Plex Dietary Supplement that she makes into delicious shakes, one in the morning (fruit based) and one for lunch (chocolate based). Yesterday, she made the MOST Delicious Kona Coast Chocolate Enduro-Plex Shake I had ever had. In the morning she makes her shakes with the powder, banana, greek yogurt and milk but for lunch after she has done a huge bike ride, run or swim she makes her shake with frozen yogurt so it truly is decandant. So the long and the short of it is that she burns close to 1500 calories on her daily workouts and I burn about 500 calories... so I will not be able to indulge in her shakes but I did make my own reduced version of it today for lunch and it was DELISH!

I started out my day with a traditional breakfast of PB & Banana on a Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel English Muffin ( I never tire of this meal - so I apologize for all the pictures you have seen of this meal but it is sooo good!)

PB & Banana on a Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel English Muffin

1 Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin
1 tablespoon Naturally More Peanut Butter
1 Banana, thinly sliced

I taught class and then took myself on a rather hot 45 minute run! I then came home and made my Pumped Up Chocolate Shake and I am riding high right now between the Green SuperFood Supplement and the Enduro-Plex Protein Powder.

Pumped Up Chocolate Shake

305 calories

I have been loving my Green Vibrance but wanted to check out the Green SuperFood Chocolate Drink Powder and was able to pick up a single serving packet at the grocery store the other day. To be honest the whole shake was wonderful and I feel fantastic so I am not sure if it is the Green SuperFood or Enduro-Plex Powder but I would definitely pick this up again and use it to make a "healthy chocolate shake". Amazing Grass Green SuperFood is a perfect blend of alkalizing greens, antioxidant rich whole food fruits and vegetables, immune boosting support herbs, and friendly pre & probiotics. Our powder mixes so easily with water; you'll wonder how essential green nutrition could taste this good.

It is really heating up here in Texas and although I say I don't like to drink my calories I might make my lunch into a liquid lunch because this shake was fantastic and very filling.

The Kona Coast Chocolate Enduro-Plex Powder is delicious, but I probably would not buy it for myself because I am not training for any triathalons and am not an endurance athlete. I really don't think I have ever run more than 10 miles at a time. I like quick short runs and would really have to work on my endurance, but if you are an athelete and are looking for a good dietary supplement I would definitely recommend this powder. According to their website:

Enduro-Plex activates all seven to help you:

Maximize Your Strength-to-Weight Ratio
Increase Energy Conversion
Amplify Your Power Output
Boost Oxygen Consumption (VO2Max)
Augment Your Endurance and Delay Fatigue
Prevent Muscle Tissue Breakdown
Recover Faster with Less Soreness

On the agenda for the rest of the day is taking and teaching Kids In Motion and then we are headed to Yogurt Planet and the Library. I love Yogurt Planet and am looking forward to a little fro-yo this afternoon. I am not sure what dinner will be but I am thinking another Bliss Salad... so good. We picked up a Slow Cooker or Crock Pot yesterday (I am sure I am the only one who does not own one of these) and found a bunch of great recipes to make so hopefully will be sharing one of those with you soon. If any of you have any great recipes that you love making in your crock pot let me know?

The kids are on the way back so I am off for now but enjoy the rest of your day and I will catch up with after dinner!
