So the lunch with the BF ended up being greek yesterday. It also ended up being my treat meal! Since I am planning a trip to greece next year, I wanted to try all the food they are famous for, so I wen't a little nuts and ordered their Vegetarian Feast which has lots of stuff I wouldn't normally eat. There was a falafel (fried !!) and all kinds of other tasty stuff, but mostly I was in love with the giant slab of hummus. Unfortunately, they also only had white pita bread...and there was some froyo, so I decided to have a wonderful, delicious cheat meal!!
Dinner with the pops was quite fun! We took him over to Old Town to give him that touristy San Diego experience. The Living Room Cafe has tons of different food, so no matter who you take there, everyone finds something to eat. I got the most amazing sandwich ever. Grilled eggplant with pesto on mutligrain bread. OMFG this was too good. It was also quite stuffed with pesto (which can add up fast with all the oil in it)...but we are gonna ignore that part. Plus, they gave me tons of fruit. If you know me, you know the easiest way to win me over is to give me fruit.
We got the fruit/cheese/bread plate for dessert. I ate all the fruit. Everyone else ate the bread and cheese. Big surprise....
Wow, yesterday was quite the carb-y day! My workout tomorrow morning should feel extra awesome since my muscles should be stuffed with fuel.
I didn't get to do my second quickie workout last night like I had hoped, so I got up a little early this morning to get some extra gym time today. My quick bfast on the way out was a white nectarine (I found these at the farmer's market and I'm in love, they are the most amazing creation ever. One of my coworkers agreed strongly and even called them "crack"). Plus a banana and some unpictured a.b.
The gym was absolutely killer this morning. Nothing feels better than finishing an insanely hard workout! I biked over to the gym for some upper body/plyo/cardio. Chest (jump rope for 30 sec between each set)- Dumbell Bench Press: 2 sets, 10 reps + 1 Drop Set Up-Down Plyo Exercise Back (jump rope for 30 sec between each set)- Dumbell Row: 2 sets, 10 reps + 1 Drop Set Up-Down Plyo Exercise Biceps (jump rope for 30 sec between each set)- Seated Recline Curl: 2 sets, 10 reps + 1 Drop Set Up-Down Plyo Exercise Triceps (jump rope for 30 sec between each set)- Dumbell French Press: 2 sets, 10 reps + 1 Drop Set Up-Down Plyo Exercise Shoulders (jump rope for 30 sec between each set)- Shoulder Press: 2 sets, 10 reps + 1 Drop Set Up-Down Plyo Exercise
30 mins stair climber
Whewwwwwwwww. What do those words mean? Up-Down Plyo Exercise: Start in push-up position, do 5 push-ups, jump feet to hands and then do 5 jumps. Jump feet back to push-up position, do 4 push-ups, then 4 jumps, etc. Count all the way down to 1 of each, then back up to 5 of each. Drop Set: Grab a weight slightly heavier than you would use to do 10 reps of a specific exercise. Use that weight to do as many reps as you can, then grab 5 lbs less and do as many reps as you can with that weight, then grab 5 lbs less and do as many as you can with that weight. Then collapse in a puddle on the ground with your now exhausted and useless muscle group.
My am snack was a fantastic recovery shake in a bowl with a slice + the butt of the ezekiel loaf with a.b., cinnamon and raisins.
My packed noms for today are some taco leftovers turned into a tasty fish taco salad (grilled sea bass, broccoli slaw, tomatoes, avocados, onions, salsa, brown rice vinegar, 1/2 torn up ezekiel tortilla) and some of my chunky-hummus-like stuff with red/orange bell pepper slices.
We have one more night with the pops in town, so there is likely another dinner out in my future! Catch you guys later!
