We all know that alcohol can be good for us in moderation, but are there any drinks out there that pack in vitamins and antioxidants, and that give us fresh alternatives to the humdrum summer cocktails? The answer is yes! A healthy summer bet is white wine sangria. Red wine is known for its polyphenols, which are antioxidants that combat heart disease and cancer. However, the pulp of grapes used to make white wine also have polyphenols and moreover, contribute to better lung function. White wine sangria is also a nice, less heavy alternative to red wine sangria if you're looking for a light aperitif.
The best way to make it is to gather the following ingredients:
one green apple
a cup of pineapple
a cup of watermelon
two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
two tablespoons of agave nectar.
Dice the fruit, then add all the ingredients to a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Pour in a pitcher, add some ice to your wine glasses, and voila! There's enough good stuff for six servings.
