There's been an increasing amount of pressure on fast-food restaurants to list the nutritional content of their meals, but do you think this should also apply to chain restaurants and even your more upper-crust establishment? When you go out to eat a nice dinner, is knowing the nutritional/caloric content important to you, or does it simply put a damper on the gourmet experience?
It would be nice to see nutritional information at all restaurants. If the info was incorporated into the menu nicley, I don't think it would damper the gourmet experience. Often food items that seem healthy and are marketed that way are not.
For this reason, we just launched a new service called
Wellternatives that lets people find nutrition info for thousands of chain restaurants — right from their cell phone or the site. It also makes recommendations for a healthier alternative to your favorite restaurant meal. Check it out and let us know what you think.
