Get Something You Want: Share Your Intentions!

Hi! Hope everyone’s morning is getting off to a good start….or afternoon, or night. I just woke up and am enjoying a cup of coffee before I run to the gym, do a quick upper body work and run back. Today we’re going to the outlets, strictly to check out Pottery Barn again. I didn’t want to buy too many things without Danny, so he’s coming back with me today.

There is so much change going on in our world right now, that we are really trying our best to stay focused on each day and take things as they come. It gets stressful and trust me I’ve had many days of stress pains where I self-diagnosed myself with appendicitis. No, really, I’m serious.

How am I handling it all? I try to take each day as it comes and wake up renewed. That’s not always easy, but I find after a good nights sleep I feel less stressed. I also write things down and make a plan for each day. I know what I want to accomplish by the end of the day and I usually have 1-2 big things on my list. (Big things may not literally be big, but it may take either a lot of effort or something I’m not usually comfortable doing, like calling someone I don’t know.)

I know this may not sound any different than anything you do and if you have any other tips PLEASE share how you handle stress!

Another BIG thing I do, is I write down and talk about my intentions. Emily reminded me of sharing my intentions when she wrote about moving to LA in her blog post. Thanks Emily!

An intention is ” performing an action is his or her specific purpose in doing so, the end or goal that is aimed at, or intended to accomplish. Whether an action is successful or unsuccessful depends at least on whether the intended result was brought about.” from Wikipedia

Basically you are telling the world what you want to happen and then setting out to make it happen. Kind of like using the law of attraction to make it happen, AND actually doing something about it. This also goes right along with vision boards . Be happy & think about what you want in life, it will come to you = the basically one sentence version of the Secret. (If you haven’t watched or read the Secret, it may seem kooky, but do it!)

So in the way of putting my intentions out there, I thought I would share a couple with you. I like to seperate my intentions into categories like business, personal and some times even break it down into health, fitness, home, etc.

Business:

Personal:

  • Sell apartment in the next 3 months.
  • Move into house and make it a home!

So there it is, laying it all on the line for you. Quitting my job was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but I really believe that I’m meant to me health counseling and helping people live a healthier, happy life.

Clearly I have LOTS more intentions, but some of them are WAY personal and I need to keep some things to myself. :) I know you understand.
