Well...there's a big difference. Fruit in it's natural state is loaded with fiber. Fiber is the non-digestible part of a plant that binds all the sugar molecules together...so that when you eat a piece of fruit...the sugar is released slowly into your system vs. all at once like a coke or candy bar...which have no fiber.
When you eat whole fruit you do not jolt the bloodstream with big sugar loads...which trigger insulin production spikes (cause fat storage) that can lead to obesity and diseases like diabetes.
