Fruit for dessert!

Posted by Kayse G.

I have a HUGE sweet tooth and love dining out. I used to always order dessert, but I've started heading over to a grocery store after dinner or keeping pears, strawberries, peaches and blueberries in the house to get my sweets fix after dinner. I miss the creme brule a bit, but feel a lot better.

Thanks Kayse, that's a really good idea.
I like the fat free chocolate jello pudding snack packs. They're really good and low in cal. And you can have it with fruit. Also, you can dip strawberries or tangerine slices in a bit of antioxidant-rich dark chocolate and then refridgerate. Tasty!
When I'm in the mood for ice cream, but don't want to worry about counting calories, I take light juices, like cranberry or others with less than the usual calories, and blend them with some ice into a slushy consistency. Instead of sipping, I eat it with a spoon, just as if it were really ice cream. It does wonders for helping me control my all-too-common ice cream cravings.
I am a total ice-cream-aholic and I absolutley love Breyer's ice cream with Splenda (only 80 calories a serving) or Dreyer's Frozen Yogurt. You don't feel like you are missing out on a thing!
I find that when I eat more fruit, I have less sugar cravings. It doesn't necesarily satisfy me if I want something sweet, but if I increase fruit in my diet, I want less sweets.
