Foods to Set The Mood For Romance

Posted Dec 18 2008 8:14pm

Wanna how to set the scene for romance?

The always-interesting ivillage.com offers an intriguing reply from nutritionist Lynn Grieger, R.D., C.D., C.D.E. as to which foods make the best aphrodisiacs.

I love it! The woman was doing some research before cooking a romantic dinner for her husband.

Lynn -- a savvy nutritionist, who did some research on my upcoming book, SUGAR SHOCK! -- dug up some tantalizing foods and intriguing explanations.

She suggests caviar, truffles and chocolate, as well as lesser-known aphrodisiacs asparagus, cappucino, radishes and garlic.

Very interesting, Lynn!

Read her romance-creating list and explanations here.

Frankly, I'm most intrigued by the vegetable suggestions like asparagus, radishes and truffles! Oh, and I absolutely adore caviar (despite the hefty price tag).

I have a few qualms about cappucino though because of the preponderance of caffeine and naturally, I also fret about chocolate, that is, the sugar-containing chocolate, because of its effects on blood sugar.

But, guess what? Yesterday, I found a chocolate that has NO SWEETENERS at all! They're "Really-Raw Chocolate Beans" from EatRaw.com.

Granted the price tag on these organic, whole-peeled cacao beans from Mexico ain't cheap, but the way I see it, this 8-ounce bag that I bought yesterday will last me for months! In fact, I'm chomping on one bean now!

Back to ivillage.com's tantalizing Q & A.

For those seeking more "natural solutions to a slagging sex drive," the popular website suggests checking out its extensive, eye-opening Natural Remedy Finder.

Hey, thanks, Lynn -- I know what I'm going to cook when I want to get a special someone in the mood.
