Fish Can Lower Your Risk of a Heart Attack

The horror stories of mercury-polluted water sources might deter you from visiting the seafood aisle, but adding fish to your diet can actually help significantly lower your risk of a heart attack. In fact, the American Heart Association recommends that you eat at least two servings per week of fish high in omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon, lake trout, herring, and albacore tuna. Omega-3 acids apparently reduce blood pressure, eliminate arterial plaque buildup, and lower cholesterol.
