Today I finally felt “accepted” into the weight room. When I mean “accepted”, the 5am-8am (ish) crowd knows I’m there for business. Not some girl playing around with weights. The people started to talk to me and make jokes. For example, I have a tendency to strap my iPhone around my leg while I’m doing arm weights. Today, a guy told me “With that thing strapped around your leg you look like Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider” .. I’m not complaining.
I am going to complain about the guy who uses the leg press machine for 45 minutes. That still pisses me off.
In other completely unrelated news, I decided I really wanted a turkey burger with avocado the other morning. So I ate some. Dinner for breakfast. Why not.
On top of discovering dinner for breakfast, I’ve also uncovered two new protein powders (okay not really new) but things I’ve been enjoying
MRM whey is my favorite post-workout drink. It’s all natural and no artificial sweeteners. No artificial sweeteners makes me a happy girl. It mixes up fairly nice and has a really good vanilla flavor, you can smell the deliciousness the minute you open the bottle. I mix it with almond breeze for thickness and flavor. I also love to use it in the protein bars I make since it doesn’t overwhelm the other flavors.
ON Chocolate Casein is my nighttime snack. I had been using it to sweeten up my cottage cheese. One night, there was no cottage cheese. So I just used it for it’s intended purpose, a shake, and mixed it with almond breeze. Let me tell you, it was like a frosty from Wendy’s. It was so thick, I had to thin it out with a touch of water. It has turned into my new favorite bed time snack.
The last thing I have been eating as of lately are these Marcona Almonds. They are delicious. There is a sweet subtle, nutty flavor to them. Barney’s Butter has won me over again.
Now that I’ve taken a little rebreather – I’m off to finish up a few more study questions before my nursing license exam (NCLEX to on Friday!
